ROSES to the Pottstown School District administration for being prepared to deal with the assessment appeal of Pottstown Memorial Medical Center. Instead of getting caught with a tax hit for an assessment appeal they knew was coming, the school district set aside the money in question and actually gained interest on it before having to pay it back. This example of thinking ahead with fiscal prudence is management that saves taxpayers money, and yet it often goes unnoticed. School board business manager Linda Adams is continuing a long history of outstanding management by school business officials in Pottstown. Taxpayers do not get much good news in the borough, but the school district’s wisdom to plan for bad news made this one easier to handle.
