The Pottstown Community was founded in 1752 by John Potts, colonial iron master. It is located along the Schuylkill River in Western Montgomery County. The estimated population is 21,000. Pottstown, in past years, was a thriving industrial town with many employment opportunities. Through the years, there was a shift away from industry in the Borough creating hard economic times. However, Pottstown ’s rural, small town atmosphere has drawn new small businesses as well as many new professionals.
